How to DIY Black Shirt Reverse Tie Dye

Hey there!

I’m shaking things up a little today and doing a fun summer time DIY project with you. I love tie dye, but since I found out about reverse tie dye, I love it even more. So, I wanted to share with you how you can make your very own reverse tie dye shirt that you can wear too.

If you want to follow along, you will need:

  1. Black Shirt
  2. Rubber Bands
  3. Bleach
  4. Spray Bottle
  5. Disposable Gloves
  6. Scissors (optional)

All you have to do is wrap and twist your black shirt with the rubber bands, make a 50/50 mixture of bleach and water in our spray bottle, spray the mixture on your shirt, leave it on for 20-30 minutes, rise your shirt, clip off the rubber bands, put the shirt in the dryer, and then…wah-lah! You have your very own reverse tie dye shirt! Simple :-).

Please share your reverse tie dye creations by tweeting me a picture @artistrage. I can’t wait to see them.

Let me know what you want to make next week,
