Summer Swimsuit Fashion Drawing with Copic Markers

summertimedrawing1

Hey everyone!

Today’s speed drawing is a cute blonde girl in a swimsuit. My favorite part about summer so far has been shopping for a swimsuit. There are SO many fun trends going on right now. I can’t remember a time when there were so many trendy options for swimsuits. It was very difficult to decide what swimsuit I should draw on the character. I hope you like the one I decided to go with. 😉

Shout out to those of you who’ve been sharing your drawings with me! I get really inspired when I see what you’ve done. If you want to share your drawings and paintings with me, you can tweet me a picture @artistrage.

And despite what you might have been thinking… I’m still around and about! I know, I know. it’s been over a month since my last art video, but thank you for your patience and checking back with me. Work life balance is a crazy thing. Anyone here know how I’m feeling? Because I think nothing but, “I want to make art,” then I get home.. and.. all those other responsibilities somehow make it first. Hm, this is beginning to sound like a good vlog topic, don’t you think?

If you’re ever wondering what’s going on with me, you can always find out on my Twitter @artistrage and on the Artist Rage Facebook page. Go ahead and give those pages a follow!

Go ahead, watch this weeks video, let me know what you want to see me draw or paint next time!

How to Draw Eyes 3 Different Ways

3difeyes

Hey there! Long time no see 🙂

While I’m working on all of my own artwork and filming that for later release, I made a new quick tutorial on how to draw eyes 3 different ways. Unlike my previous how-tos, this doesn’t have a voice-over or written tips. There’s still a lot to learn from watching and practicing, so give it a try! Watch what I do then try it yourself. Show me the eyes you draw by sharing your completed piece on twitter using #ARartshow.

I’ll be back next weekend with a new video. Check the website throughout the week for blog posts, and follow me on twitter and facebook for daily art inspirations!

See you,

~Pamela

Simple 5 Minute Drawing Warmup Routine

5mindr

Hey There, Happy Art Video Friday! I thought it would be great to do a quick video over a simple five minute drawing warmup routine that you can do before you start illustrating your masterpiece. I know saying “warmup” and “routine” makes it sound like a chore, but I promise you that not only is the warmup simple, but you’ll start to see results from doing these simple exercises before you draw. It can increase your production time and it can help you brush up on skills you may not use in every drawing.

I wanted to note that I am filming this on my computer in Photoshop because my camera is no longer working. I will have a new camera soon, but in the meantime will be working primarily in Photoshop. You can do this warmup routine no matter the medium — drawing on paper or on the computer.. It doesn’t matter! Make the effort and warm-up those muscles!

Try this out, tell me how it goes, and let me know what you want to see next Friday.

~ Pamela

How to Draw a Symmetrical Face in Pencil Girl Version

symface

Hey there! I’m Pamela and today I’m going to show you how I draw symmetrical faces. This method is great for people drawing comics, cartoons, or even realistic faces. Go ahead and grab a piece of paper, a pencil, an eraser, and a ruler and lets get started.

In the video you will notice that I’m not giving you exact measurements on how far each feature on the face should be from one another. This is because each face is unique. I am giving a generalization of where the eyes, nose, and mouth should fall in relation to one another. Hopefully, this will give you enough information to go off and try to draw a symmetrical, or even semi-symmetrical face of your own. (The one I drew isn’t even PERFECTLY symmetrical.)

As an extra little note, I wanted to add that you do not have to make the eyes as big as I did. If you’re trying to draw a realistic looking female face, it may actually be in your best interests to draw the eyes a little smaller. When I draw, I personally like to make my female characters have larger, doll like eyes. Basically, what I’m saying is when it comes down to the smaller details, draw to your tastes.

Thanks for watching this week’s tutorial. If you want me to draw, paint, or create something in particular, please leave a comment below and tell me what it is!

See you next week,
~Pamela
